Salute the nations of the world with this considerable collection of non-sport cards. Offered are (8) complete/near/partial sets of vintage cards and silks issued during the 1910s-1930s by assorted tobacco companies. This glorious grouping includes flags, crests and uniforms employed by a vast variety of countries during the early part of the 20th Century. Ranging as better to excellent, this large contingent of international series often crosses into the remarkable range with many dazzling examples present, including vibrant groups of antique Flag silks and an astounding near set of 1936 German language Olympic banners. Featured are:
c.1910s Kensitas Cigarettes (Scottish brand) National Flags silks partial set of (44/60) plus (24) duplicates, all but (5) are housed in what appear to be original cellophane sleeves, which have kept these stunning silks in prime condition to average (EX-MT to NM-MT+) with 10% lesser. This is really one of the finest groups of silks we've seen in quite some time and though a few may have some minor fraying, the edges are generally sharp and in many cases these century-old antiques present as factory fresh with glossy obverses showing vivid colors against snow white fields; also present are (54) c.1910s Kensitas assorted British Empire flag silks that are unnumbered and present similarly to the National Flags group with deference to just a few more being somewhat lesser due to an occasional bent corner or some wrinkling.
(4) 1928 Player & Sons (British brand) Flags of the League of Nations complete sets of (50) average (VG-EX to NM) with 10% lesser
1930 Player & Sons (British brand) Regimental Standards and Cap Badges complete set of (50) average (VG-EX to EX-MT+)
1936 Aurelia Zigaretten (German brand) Olympia Banner (Olympic banners and crests with German language text) near set of (198/200) average (EX-MT to NM-MT) with 10% lesser, this gorgeous group boasts vivid obverse designs with lustrous gold leaf borders
1938 Player & Sons (British brand) Military Uniforms of the British Empire Overseas complete set of (50) average (EX-MT to NM-MT)
